Lisa Whitmer brings her training as an anthropologist from Brown University and background as a history teacher to produce documentaries for PBS.

She recently produced, directed, and edited a documentary short on the neo-burlesque revival in San Francisco that won the Audience Award at the 2009 San Francisco Independent Film Festival and Best Documentary at the 2009 Broad Humor Film Festival. Other festival screenings include the 2009 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and the 2009 Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Lisa is part of the Media Factory, an Emmy award-winning video production company based in Berkeley, California. With the Media Factory, she has produced and edited works ranging from documentaries to corporate podcasts to fundraising shorts for non-profits.

When she's not making films, Lisa teaches video production to teenagers and educators.
